“ TECHNOLOGY AND SOCIETY”

Association “Technology and Society” is nonprofit, nongovernmental organization, bringing together individual and collective members from different kind of institutions: universities, S&R institutes, political and nongovernmental organizations, business sector, governmental agencies, media, and persons without any relation with institution. The general aim of this gathering is to promote and constant improve relationship between technology and society. “Technology and Society”, as kind of “think tank”- consisted of the prominent experts, practitioners and ex-ministers pro-democratic oriented, in ICT field, social science, economy and culture.
Background of foundation. In the last seven years of the last century every year have been held a conference entitled “Technology, Culture and Development”. The conference dealt with a strictly defined specific theme each year. The themes dealt with preceding seven conferences have been 1. Historic evidence on interactions between technology, culture and development, 2. Ethical problems of science, technology and development, 3. Education shaped by technology and culture, 4. Science, technology and innovation policies, 5. Technology, culture and development in small-scale countries, 6. The case of “bounded development” and 7. Technological development in the 20th century and its two faces. People around this conference (academia, research, industry, arts and culture, administration etc) proposed to found the association of those who are interested in dealing with the interactions between technology and society.
